Facemask Petition
We, the bus operators of the Chicago Transit Authority (“CTA”), recognize that the wearing of face coverings in public areas is required by an Order issued by the Commissioner of Health of the City of Chicago to protect the health and safety of the public and prevent community spread of the virus, but due to the disregard by many of the riding public, we hereby petition the Mayor of the City of Chicago to emphasize and issue specific guidelines regarding the posting of advisories, and to specifically state to the riding public of the CTA that the wearing of face coverings is required by all passengers when riding the CTA, that they can be denied access to public transportation for disregarding the guidelines, and that they are to follow the instructions of operators pertaining to the requirements regarding face coverings and the safety of the drivers.
