Transit Worker’s Video Project

In order to present our view of the situation facing transit workers and the riding public, and to counter the false statements made about us by the employers, it is important for us to speak out in our own voice. This will not only build confidence in ourselves, but also project a clear and public voice for transit workers which will be helpful in gaining support from within our ranks, ally organizations, and the riding public.

For this purpose, a small group of transit workers have started a video project. Below is our first five minute introduction. We have focused on our day-to-day work responsibilities, making it clear how we care about the important work that we do for our passengers and our communities. Our hope is to organize showings of these videos and to facilitate discussions and collaboration between transit workers and our communities.

We need your help and leadership. Please answer the questions in this questionnaire. Once you respond, volunteers will contact you as soon as possible. If you have questions, you can contact the union office at (312) 341-1733.
